Sandy's Glasgow Treasures ; Hi! My name is Sandy, i work at the Kelvingrove Hotel. Guests are always asking for unique places to visit during their stay in Glasgow, somewhere no other tourists go. In this part of the website i am endeavoring to point out some Glasgow's hidden treasures; 1) "The Hidden Lane Tearooms" This fantastic little tearoom is just round the corner from the Kelvingrove Hotel. It has not been open long and is run by two young girls. You can enjoy a cream tea whilst gazing down the old cobbled street, where the buildings have been painted bright colours. Myself and my flatmates adore this place! 2) "Relics" This is one of my favourite shops in Glasgow! Tucked away on Ruthven lane, near Byres Road, is an Aladdin's Cave of treasures; you will find telephones to medals, guitars to books, ornaments to radios, clocks to photographs....the list goes on! If you are ever after a unique present for someone then this is the place to go.
3) City Chambers Built in the 1880s, this building has functioned as the headquarters of Glasgow City Council since 1996. This building is designed in the Italian Renaissance style, the inside being even more ornate than the outside - it has even been used in films to represent the Vatican and the Kremlin. If you are ever in need of something fun to do in city centre i highly recommend a wee look around. There is always a friendly face on reception and they are more than happy for you to explore the ground floor.
