How do I get to the Hotel from the Airport?
If you are flying in to either Glasgow Airport or Prestwick Airport and would like picked up and brought to the hotel we will be happy to arrange this for you.
We have an agreement with Harbour Exec Hire who have a 24 hour flight tracker facility which ensures they will be there to meet your flight. To arrange pick up let us know your incoming flight details at the time of making your accommodation booking. Similarly we can arrange transportation to either airport at the end of your stay.

Glasgow

Prestwick

If driving from Glasgow Airport follow signs for Glasgow M8 and signs for SECC. Journey will take approximately 20 minutes.

If driving from Prestwick Airport follow signs for Glasgow M77. In Glasgow this will merge with the M8 and you should follow signs for SECC.
Journey will take approximately 45 minutes.

What train, bus and subway routes?
A new Glasgow Airport Bus link has now started for 2008 which takes you directly from the airport to the Kelvingrove Hotel for only £5 return for adults.  The bus drops you off at the corner of Derby Street and Sauchiehall Street and we are opposite no.4 on the map.  The bus will take 20 minutes from the airport and approx. 40 mins to the airport, as the bus goes around the city loop and then out to the airport.  Please look at the following website for timetable, prices, map and further information www.glasgowairportlink.com

Where can I park my car?

It's free to park in front of the Hotel or in the streets around it at weekends and in the evening after 6pm. From 8am until 6pm on weekdays a 'pay and display' system is in operation meaning that you have to pay for parking by way of a parking meter. However, we can offer you discounted parking vouchers from the hotel reception, which allow you to park without paying at the meter, at a rate of £2 for four hours or £4 for the day.

How long does it take to walk into the city centre?
An easy 10-15 minutes, a short bus ride or inexpensive taxi (approx £2.50)

How close to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC)?
We are an extremely popular choice for guests choosing to visit the SECC being just a 15 minute walk.

Can I hire a car nearby?
Our car hire partners Enterprise offer extremely competitive rates for Kelvingrove guests. Typically these rates include 7 days hire for the price of 5. Costs for a Small e.g. Corsa £40.00 per day (£200.00 per week), Medium e.g. Astra £50.00 per day, Large e.g. Vectra £60.00 per day, MPV People Carrier £80.00 per day and Executive e.g. Omega or Mercedes £90.00 per day. Enterprise will deliver the car direct to you at the hotel.

What shopping centres and shops are in walking distance?
Buchanan Galleries is one of the newest shopping centres in Glasgow and has many famous shopping brands including H&M, Mango, Habitat, NEXT, John Lewis, Nike, Austin Reed, Quiksilver, Levi’s, Gap, Jane Norman, Top Shop and Virgin.

Boutique stores can be found further down Buchanan Street in Princes Square where shops such as Calvin Klein, Jo Malone, Lacoste, Reiss, Ted Baker and French Connection can be found.

Designer brands such as Prada, Max Mara, Louis Vuitton, Armani and Ralph Lauren can be found in independent stores as well as the large Frasers store, again on Buchanan Street.

What restaurants are nearby?
There are a great number of excellent restaurants in easy walking distance including Air Organic, Firebird, Mother India, Konaki Greek Taverna, Kooks Kitchen, Crème de la Crème and the Thai Siam.

A short walk away in Byres Road can be found Ashton Lane. This cobbled lane houses bars and restaurants including the famous Ubiquitous Chip restaurant, popular Cul de Sac and Bar Brel. Further along Byres Road can be found Café Andaluz, Antipasti Italian Restaurant, Stravaigin and the multi award winning One Devonshire Gardens.
